Does anyone recognize the cricket player in this picture as Aunt Myrtle? The picture appears on page 26 of a book (title unknown) along with pictures of other Bermudians. The caption next to the picture says:
Taking Her Turn: Some time in the 1930's, Myrtle Edness took her turn at bat on the grounds of "Woodstock", Paget east. Submitted by Myrtle Edness

Holly,
That's pretty cool embedding the mystery image into your email. You are getting too good with all of this.
I'm not sure if others can see my comments but, if you can, I'm Holly's husband. She loves the Hazel Family interaction with this site. Just so you know, she hasn't cooked or cleaned since she started this project.

You got jokes!
Hello family,
Kitwana and I are very excited about the Hazel Family Reunion 2010. There are far too many family members that we have never met and others we would love to see again.
I suggest that the larger family units be given special consideration given the associated expenses. That said; there are only two of us in our household, so we will not cast a vote, but will start saving like crazy, because we intend to be there.
My mother's family had a reunion here in Bermuda three months ago with over four hundred plus people attending the weekend events. This was a small fraction of the total family members recorded in the family tree. Some of the family members came from as far away as Australia and Europe but were unable to bring the little ones and even some of the older members because they were unable to afford the total airline and hotel expenses. Even some of the local members with several kids found it difficult to cover the registration fee.
I am praying that a location will be agreed on that will be the most convenient for as many of us as possible to attend. An ideal holiday resort, while enticing, should not override this consideration. I am sure we will all be happy at a location that allows the larger number of us to come together, and one that will also allow us to spend all of our time together without too many other distractions that might entice us to separate. Remember, we are the main attraction.
Are there any family members that might have airline or hotel connections that could assist with make inquiries on special group or family rates? Kitwana works for The Fairmont Hamilton Princess and has some privileges. Although we cannot confirm at this time, if Bermuda or other Fairmont locations are considered, she could find out if the hotel might consider this event.
Keep us in the loop as we would love to help out in anyway possible with the planning.
“Nuf said” - smile
Lots of love,
Sandra and Kitwana (Bermuda)
